On Feb13th, 2019, Twitter announced that the popular social network is testing a new way to preview profiles for its iOS users without getting off their timelines. The feature is only being tested on iOS but will be available on Android soon as well.
In a tweet, Twitter said:
We’re testing an easier way to check out profiles on iOS without leaving your timeline! Simply tap any @ handle in a Tweet, take a peek, follow, and get right back to it. Let us know what you think! pic.twitter.com/dIUFxI2r4C

At present, if you tap on someone’s @ handle in a tweet, then you will be taken straight to that user’s Twitter profile. This leaves you out of what you were reading. But, with this new feature, you’ll see a pop-up menu when you tap on a users’ handle and can view the person’s profile picture, bio and instantaneously follow them. Also, if you follow that user already and want to unfollow him/her, you can tap on the same button to do so. You will also get another option to jump to the full profile of the other Twitter users along with the share options. Once you are done with the pop-up card, swipe down and back to where you were on your activities.
Viewing a user profile is a little unwieldy process, particularly when multiple peoples are involved in a single conversation. But, this amazing feature will make it very simple for users to know who’s involved in a particular conversation. It will also help them to stay focused on one specific conversation and collect whatever information about who’s participating in the conversation without having to jump around continually. This popular social networking site is also working on a great feature that would trace the roots of long tweet-threads.
